I have been contacted by the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) to create a 9 min long animation for the Franklin Institute museum at Philadelphia.

The main wall is composed of 3 layers : bricks, mortar and wood structure.
The idea was to create a video which would be projected onto the ceiling and give the impression that the roof is slowly being destroyed by a tornado.
It was really a challenging project because everything as to be simulated and rendered for at least 7 minutes at a 2,8K resolution with a really short amount of time and budget.

I came up with various layer of dust/debris… that I could render separately and duplicate to populate the animation all along.
As always I used Houdini for all the 3D works and Redshift for rendering.
